Save the date - February 8 to 12, 2027 marks the annual international celebration of Love Data Week. The 2027 theme is “Love Data. Handle with Care.”
The University of Minnesota is participating in Love Data Week by hosting data events and educational opportunities (events will be posted below when available) targeted towards University faculty, staff, and students, and by participating in the Big Ten Academic Alliance Data Viz Championship.
Participate in the Data Viz Championship
The UMN is participating in the BTAA’s Data Viz Championship by hosting an internal competition open to all students, faculty, and staff from all campuses.
Instructors of data visualization-related courses are encouraged to incorporate the 2027 data set - NCAA Women's Basketball Data Set - into fall 2026 curricula to support student participation.
Student entrants must use the provided data set. Faculty and staff can submit an existing or create a new data visualization based on any theme. More information on the 2027 Data Viz Championship will be available at a later date.
Host a Data Event During Love Data Week
UMN faculty, staff, and students: do you have an event / training / anything data-related that is already (or could be) happening during Love Data Week 2027 (February 8 to 12)?
