Undergraduate Outcomes by Major Program

This dashboard summarizes the last three years of outcomes attained by undergraduates in their first year after graduation, providing information regarding career success outcomes rates, employment, continuing education, and internships. The dashboard can be filtered by Campus, College, and Program.

Data Sources
  • This unified systemwide dataset merges data from the Post-Graduation Survey (PGS) - collected at and in the months following graduation - with campus-specific surveys and external records such as the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) and the HEPdata Career Append Service.
  • The Post-Graduation Survey instrument is the primary source of information from recent alumni.  It became a systemwide initiative in Spring 2021, with phased implementation for College of Science and Engineering (Summer '21), Carlson School of Management (Fall '21), and University of Minnesota - Duluth (Summer '23).

Report Update Cadence:

  • Once a year, typically mid/late-October
Notes
  • The Career Success Outcomes rate is calculated as: ( Employed + Continuing education ) / (Employed + Continuing education + Seeking employment + Seeking continuing education ).  Students indicating they are not seeking employment are omitted from calculation.
  • Categories with fewer than 5 respondents are grouped into 'Other.' For instance, organizations with fewer than 5 responses are not listed individually in the 'Top Employers' table.
